Arctic Frames at DesignMarch Reykjavík 2014

Arctic Frames presents six video works by directors studying Audiovisual Mediaculture in University of Lapland, Finland. The works vary from video installations to art short films and documents. The exhibition showcases the scale of the video expertise among the emerging talents from the Faculty of Art and Design. Arctic plays a role in the works as a setting, a source of inspiration and roots.

All of the works are produced in University of Lapland, Faculty of Art & Design in 2013–2014.

 
The exhibition is organised in co-operation with WDC2012 Helsinki–Rovaniemi -project and DesignMarch Reykjavík. Rovaniemi participated as a partner in the World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 by bringing the Arctic Design perspective, combining the demands of arctic conditions, top research and training in the field, expertise of creative industries, and northern culture. WDC2012 Helsinki-Rovaniemi continues to encourage enterprises to use design. The aim of the project is to develop co-operation between companies and University of Lapland and showcase Arctic Design. Faculty of Art and Design at the University of Lapland educates over one third of all Finnish students graduating with a Master´s Degree in Art.
